The University of Michigan Graduate Real Estate Development

The University of Michigan Graduate Real Estate Development Program chaired by Chris Leinberger has become so popular that it’s seeking a codirector who will supplement Leinberger’s involvement. The program, spearheaded by the university’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning in Ann Arbor, awards certificates in real estate development, and enrolls about 50 graduate students. Described by Dean Doug Kelbaugh as a “progressive real estate development program,” it focuses on “the making of well-designed, livable, and sustainable places that offer a high quality of life in mixed-use, compact, walkable, and transit-oriented built environments.” Leinberger, a visiting fellow at The Brookings Institution, works at the Michigan position part-time and says the program needs a full-time codirector to join him.
