Writer, teacher, and architect Witold Rybczynski is winner

Writer, teacher, and architect Witold Rybczynski is winner of both the 2007 Seaside Prize, to be presented Jan. 27, in Seaside, Florida, and the Vincent Scully Prize, to be awarded Jan. 17 at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Rybczynski, currently Martin & Margy Meyerson Professor of Urbanism and Professor of Real Estate at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, will give a lecture on “demand-side urbanism” immediately after accepting the Scully Prize from the museum. Simon & Schuster is preparing to publish Rybczynski’s next book, Last Harvest: How a Cornfield Became New Daleville: Real Estate Development in America from George Washington to the Builders of the Twenty-First Century and Why We Live in Houses Anyway.
