The Mississippi Renewal Forum, which was assembled in October by the Congress for the New Urbanism, won an Arthur Ross Award for Excellence in the Classical Tradition from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America in the category of community design. The award, for the Forum’s work in devising redevelopment planning ideas for 11 hurricane-damaged communities on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, will be presented May 1 in New York. Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk chaired the jury, which was also composed of Jacob Collins, Christine G.H. Franck, Alexa Hampton, William H. Harrison, Susan Henshaw Jones, Clem Labine, Henry Hope Reed, and Gil Schafer III, with Philip Dodd as jury coordinator.
