ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    NOV. 9, 2010
The Partnership for Sustainable Communities, the federal government’s first attempt to coordinate activities of HUD, the US Department of Transportation, and the Environmental Protection Agency, has issued a 14-page report detailing its progress in supporting smart growth and sustainable development. Among the funds awarded through the Partnership have been “bus and livability grants” for 47 projects aimed at “encouraging development around public transit and giving bus riders better access to jobs, health care, and education.”
