Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood, a 60-acre urban redevelopment, has been certified as a LEED-ND (LEED for Neighborhood Development) project, according to a recent announcement by Mayor Karl Dean and developer MarketStreet Enterprises. “In the past decade, Nashville’s 60-acre Gulch has gone from an industrial area that attracted few businesses and residents to one of the city’s hottest neighborhoods, attracting hip restaurants, high-rise condo buildings and national retailers such as Urban Outfitters,” according to a news release. Gulch development is a public-private partnership between MarketStreet and Davidson County’s Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency. The original master plan was completed by Looney Ricks Kiss architects.
