The Seaside Institute selected author James Howard Kunstler as the recipient of the 2009 Seaside Prize. The honor is awarded to an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to the quality and character of our communities. Kunstler is most recently the author of World Made by Hand, a novel, and The Long Emergency, which explores peak oil and global warming. He is known for his urban writings in the books The City in Mind, Home from Nowhere, and The Geography of Nowhere. The award will be given January 31. See www.seasideinstitute.com for details.
