Only 3 percent of home buyers willing to forgo access to transit
ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    SEP. 1, 2008
Only 3 percent of home buyers expressed a willingness to give up proximity to public transportation in today’s market, according to a recent poll by Builder magazine. More buyers (6 percent) are willing to give up proximity to shopping and/or work. The same poll determined that almost half of home buyers (49 percent) now rate green features such as energy-saving appliances and solar panels as important, compared to only 31 percent who rate luxury amenities as important.
