Island Press has released updated edition of Porter's book

Island Press has released a thoroughly updated second edition of Douglas Porter’s 1997 book, Managing Growth in America’s Communities. In the new 335-page edition ($35 paperback, $70 hardcover), Porter, a consultant on land use planning and policy issues, expands his coverage of New Urbanism, transit-oriented development, sustainability, green infrastructure planning, and regional equity — approaches that have become more prominent in the past 10 years. He also examines issues related to population growth, eminent domain, and the importance of design, especially green design.
