The 2020 Community Plan in Bozeman, Montana, calls for development of about a dozen neighborhood commercial centers, where nearby residents can get basic goods and services such as a cup of coffee, a meal, or a haircut. One such center is up and running, Walt Williams reported March 14 in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. It’s hoped that the others will take shape over the next 16 years. They are to be “spaced around the community in a kind of a satellite configuration, so as the community grows and develops, these neighborhood centers will be within walking distance,” according to city planning director Andy Epple.
