ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    APR. 1, 2004
Segways, the two-wheeled, self-balancing transports sometimes ridden on sidewalks, have been banned for safety reasons from the three Disney theme parks — Disney World, Disneyland, and California Adventure — as well as from Sea World Orlando. Handicapped individuals have protested Disney’s decision, arguing that some people unable to walk prefer to use Segways rather than sit in wheelchairs or rent expensive scooters. Last year San Francisco prohibited Segways on its sidewalks.
