The first “re-charrette” in New Urbanism’s 11-year history
ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    JUN. 1, 2003
The first “re-charrette” in New Urbanism’s 11-year history will take place just before CNU XI. Though it is not officially part of the CNU program, organizers with Duany Plater-Zyberk and Company assure us that all Congress participants are welcome at the three-day Kentlands Re-Charrette, June 16 to 18. According to the Kentlands-based Town Paper, the re-charrette will particularly examine the retail areas of Kentlands, Lakelands, and Market Square, three independently developed areas that together form one large neighborhood. The opening night presentation will be at Rachel Carson Elementary School in Kentlands, June 16, 7 to 9 p.m. There will also be a closing event at the same location, June 18, 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, go to www.tndtownpaper.com.
