As the Southern Village TND in Chapel

As the Southern Village TND in Chapel Hill, NC, approaches buildout, developer Bryan Properties is gearing up for a new pedestrian-oriented project outside neighboring Durham. Property manager Jim Earnhardt says Bryan has contracted to purchase undeveloped acreage at Treyburn, including a contiguous 1,200-acre tract which has been approved for 1,600 dwelling units and includes a golf course.
According to Earnhardt, Bryan hopes to close on the property in April and begin marketing existing lots while assembling a builder team to complete the first phase of construction, possibly by the end of the year. Earnhardt says that longer-range plans may eventually include already-permitted commercial uses as well. Meanwhile, at Southern Village, all lots have been sold and “only eight or nine houses” remain to be built.
