The Association for the New Urbanism
ROBERT STEUTEVILLE OCT. 1, 2002
The Association for the New Urbanism in Pennsylvania (ANUPA), which Lancaster County planner Will Selman and Emmaus Borough Council member Joyce Marin began organizing in the summer of 2001, has established a web site: www.anupa.org. One of the site’s features is the commonwealth’s enabling legislation aimed at making New Urbanism an effective alternative to Pennsylvania’s sprawl. The site contains information about 21 new urban developments, all but five of them clustered in southeastern and southcentral sections of the state. Two are in Philadelphia, eight are in Chester County, one is in Bucks County, four are in Lancaster County, and one is in Northampton County. The remaining five are far to the west, in Pittsburgh.
