Dilapidated housing, parking lots, and commercial buildings

Dilapidated housing, parking lots, and commercial buildings in the Elliot Park neighborhood in Downtown Minneapolis have been replaced by East Village, a $29.5-million mixed-use, infill development. The four- and five-story brick buildings designed by Miller Hanson Partners provide 180 new apartments, 40 of which are affordable to households at or below 50 percent of the area median income. The 2.9-acre project was developed by the nonprofit Central Community Housing Trust, and includes 6,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
