Sales off to a good start

Sales have begun at three of the eight projects profiled in this report, and so far the consumer response has been positive. Washington Town Center opened sales at the beginning of 2001 and has sold 185 of the 560 homes planned for the first phase. Nearly 65 homes are built or nearing completion. Town homes, ranging from 1,500 to 2,300 square feet, start at $ 195,000, while detached homes begin at $270,000. Arcadia Realty has sold 120 lots to builders in North Richland Hills Town Center since mid-March 2001, and 40 homes were under construction at the end of July. Townhomes begin at $150,000 and most single homes are priced in the $200,000 to $300,000 range. Custom homes top out at $750,000. In Cherry Hill Village, 82 homes have been sold since January, and 10 models are now nearing completion. An additional 27 homes are currently under construction. Prices in the project range from $170,000 to $600,000. u
