A four-screen theater in the town center of Southern Village is running movies every Friday and Saturday night on the town green. Moviegoers bring blankets and chairs and are charged three dollars. The event has been very popular and adds energy to the center of the traditional neighborhood development in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Southern Village is also getting a 5,000 sq. ft. coop food store, a restaurant, other shops, and second floor condominiums on the town green. Two office buildings are complete and a third is planned — totaling 105,000 square feet of office space — in the town center.
