NorthWest Crossing, a new urbanist project with offices, shops, civic buildings, parks, and 1,300 housing units, has been planned for Bend, Oregon. The project, designed by Walker Macy Landscape Architects and Planners and Fletcher Farr Ayotte Architects, will reclaim two pumice stone quarries formerly used on the site. One of the quarry sites will become Discovery Park, a central open space feature. NorthWest Crossing is a joint venture of Brooks Resources Corporation and Tennant Developments.
