Belmont, North Carolina, was one of the first municipalities nationwide to have a traditional neighborhood development (TND) ordinance. Now it appears that the municipality may get its first TND. The $40 million project will convert a historic textile mill into 46 loft apartments and condominiums, and provide a compact mix of housing, retail, and civic uses on the adjacent 50 acres, according to The Business Journal, a regional publication. The developers are Stowe Mills and Ron Morgan.
