Mashpee Commons villages

Jobs Fishing Road This 22.6-acre village abutting the south of Mashpee Commons’ downtown represents a continuation of the commercial development, but it will be slightly less urban in character. Plans call for 37,500 square feet of retail space, 14,325 square feet of restaurants and 95,500 square feet of offices in a series of relatively small scale buildings. Twenty bed and breakfast rooms will be built, along with 120 housing units, ranging from apartments to single homes. A green with a community building will form the center of this neighborhood. East Steeple Street Perhaps the most urban of the new neighborhoods in character, East Steeple Street will contain several blocks of two-story mixed use buildings grouped around a green. This village is planned to include 127,000 square feet of retail, 37,500 square feet of offices, 22,500 square feet of restaurants and a 120-room hotel. Fifty second-floor apartments are planned. North Market Street Neighborhood This 7.5-acre expansion of the section of Mashpee Commons north of Route 151 includes 90,000 square feet of retail, offices and possibly residential units. Two story buildings will be grouped around a small neighborhood green. Whitings Road The most rural of the villages, Whitings Road includes 80 single homes on 27 acres grouped around a green. Most of the blocks have rear alleys for automobile access. Some houses will feature accessory units over garages. An additional 13 acres is preserved as natural open space.
