The new National Town Builders Association (NTBA) now

The new National Town Builders Association (NTBA) now has an advisory board including Robert Chapman, Joel Embry, Joe Alfandre, John Clark, Chris Leinberger, Vince Graham, Mike Watkins and Andres Duany. Six of the advisors are actively involved in developments or related activities. Duany and Watkins are with the town planning firm Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company. The first NTBA member is Pulte Homes Corp., one of the nation’s largest builders. The NTBA has an updated dues plan. “Town founders” must pay $2,000/year, and get the full range of services, including help with sales and financing. Town founders must have projects that qualify as traditional neighborhood developments. The second tier of members, “town builders,” would pay $1,000/year for informational services, and are not required to have qualified projects. Planners, architects and consultants can join as associated members for $100/year, but they have to be members of the Congress for the New Urbanism and their work must be approved by a jury.
