Pocket court porchview

This is the front porch view for the Jacob's Pocket Court neighborhood, a new extension of the Village of Cheshire in Black Mountain North Carolina.  The 10-foot deep porch on this cottage faces a small oval–shaped green. The watercolor rendering shows enough details to inform the architecture of the buildings. The porch and the community look intimate and inviting and one can imagine reading a book, having coffee or a drink, and children playing on the green.

The 3-acre pocket court neighborhood includes two greens with cottages applying Light Imprint infrastructure plus in early childhood education center designed with Learning Cottages. More is planned. I’ve been posting daily a condensed series about the process with design iterations, research into precedent, and now tracking construction since breaking ground as additional design work continues.
