Are you a CNU member? Increase your impact: Run for a Board seat
New Urbanism is a reform movement that is radical and transformative, dedicated to reshaping places around the world. The non-profit organization Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) supports this movement of multidisciplinary practitioners and advocates. The organization grew out of the movement, envisioning a world where cities, towns, and neighborhoods are intentionally designed and managed to foster community, preserve the natural environment, and improve the lives of everyone. We support this vision by collaborating with, convening, and educating the movement's members, who are the key instruments and implementers of the work. The organization moves forward with our Chapters, affiliated groups, partnered and allied organizations, student New Urbanist groups, networks of academics and universities, and our generous sponsors and funders.
The CNU Board is one group of volunteers that is not often in the spotlight. A diverse, competent board with a variety of expertise, backgrounds, and values is critical to the governance and oversight of CNU's non-profit organization.
CNU’s Board is intentionally made up of a combination of appointed and elected positions. In Addition to the Chapter-Elected representative, we have two seats to be elected by the membership on a rolling basis. One of those positions is currently open—and we are looking for dedicated, competent, and skilled members interested in participating in the elevation! Information about the process, deadlines, and links to more information can be found here.
Members interested in running for this seat can self-nominate through February 23rd at 5 pm ET.
