Peggy Daly-Masternak
Peggy Daly-Masternak began opposing the expansion of I-475 through the most densely residential neighborhoods in Toledo, Ohio, as soon as it was announced in 2020. She is the coordinator of the I-475 Neighborhoods Coalition. Peggy is not new to this kind of activism, having stood up for and led other initiatives that promoted well-being, justice, and peace in her neighborhood and community.
Stop the freeway expansion, build a boulevard
The West Toledo Expressway destroyed 900 buildings, mostly homes, in 1972 and accelerated a decline that continues to this day. Now, Ohio Department of Transportation wants to expand the highway. Instead, let’s bring people back with a boulevard.
