Building for Life: Designing and Understanding the Human-Nature Connection
ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    JAN. 1, 2006
Building for Life: Designing and Understanding the Human-Nature Connection, a new book by Professor Stephen R. Kellert of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, examines people’s need for elements of nature, whether in cities or in other settings. The $34.95 paperback from Island Press does not deal directly with New Urbanism but in some ways complements it by showing how important nature is for the well-being of humans, especially during childhood.
