The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) in Atlantic City, New Jersey, is scheduled to break ground by the end of 1998 on a 150-home redevelopment on three and a half city blocks. The homes, inspired by vernacular architecture, include wide front porches. A variety of housing types will range from twins priced in the $120,000s to $500,000 waterfront properties. The project is adjacent to a formal city park on the waterfront. “Oceanside is planned as a traditional neighborhood of single family homes on tree lined streets, reminiscent of neighborhoods built throughout the area before the turn of the century,” says CRDA executive director James Kennedy.
