The City of Boynton Beach in Palm Beach County, Florida, is reviewing site plans for Quantum Park and Village, a $100 million mixed-use development. Derek Vander Ploeg & Associates, Inc. of Boca Raton, who worked on Mizner Park, has designed a downtown core around a main street lined with three- to four-and-a-half-story buildings containing retail, offices and apartments. Of the 250 residential units in the core, 115 will be above shops and the remainder in an apartment complex. An additional 250 apartments are planned for the project. The 62-acre site will contain 300,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, an 80,000 square-foot cinema, and about 90,000 square feet of offices. The site is surrounded by several lakes and a nature preserve. The developers are Quantum Limited, which owns the adjacent Quantum Corporate Park, and Olen Companies, a California-based apartment developer.
