Construction could begin as early as this fall on 4,000- acre Southwood, the first of several planned traditional neighborhood developments by the St. Joe Company, Florida’s largest private landowner. Designed by Dick Galehouse of Sasaki Associates, the $333 million Leon County, Florida, project will be built around two town centers within an easy walk of single-family homes, apartments, and estates. The project will include 4,700 residential units, a 250-acre industrial park, 2.2 million square feet of office space, a golf course, and a 123-acre park. Home prices will range from $80,000 to $500,000. Final approvals are expected by August.
