Construction has started on the Village Marketplace
Construction has started on the Village Marketplace, a collection of 110,000 square feet of retail and 45,000 square feet of offices framing a broad pedestrian plaza in Carpenter Village, a Traditional Neighborhood Development that W&W Partners is building in Cary, North Carolina. Approximately 1,200 people occupy detached houses and townhouses in the 400-acre Carpenter Village, under development for five years. At Colonial Williamsburg, Kyle Ward and Mike Hunter of W&W Partners got the idea of arranging the marketplace’s buildings to “face inward around the plaza and hide most of the parking behind the buildings,” according to Ward. The developers hope to complete the marketplace in three years and to fill it with a mix of local and regional shops and restaurants. u
