Continuum Partners of Denver, Colorado, has
submitted plans for Bradburn Village, a 112-acre TND to be located in Westminster, a municipality between Denver and Boulder. The master plan was conceived by Duany Plater-Zyberk & Co. Civitas will do the landscaping, and Wolff-Lyon Architects of Denver will design the housing prototypes.
Bradburn Village will consist of a commercial village fronting a busy road and a surrounding residential village, says Will Fleissig of Continuum. The commercial village will include 470,000 square feet of retail, office, and hotel space and 400 dwelling units in townhomes, lofts, and apartments. The residential sector will house 250 detached and 80 attached units. The proposed project is located between two technology business parks.
Continuum will use both production and custom home builders enabling the project to be built out within four or five years, says Fleissig. The City of Westminster has new TND guidelines in place, and Fleissig expects to obtain approval early in 2000 and the first housing to be ready in the first quarter of 2001.
