Doug Farr’s book Sustainable Urbanism: Urban Design With Nature, published by Wiley and reviewed in the Dec. 2007 New Urban News, went into a second printing after only six weeks on the market. Farr has begun a national series of training seminars to present the book’s ideas and introduce new case studies and benchmarks. The Chicago architect gave his first “Sustainable Urbanism/LEED-ND” book seminar for the Florida CNU chapter, featuring an evaluation of five examples of Florida urbanism. Among the seminars that Farr Associates is working on are one in Miami in September and one in November in Boston. For details, see www.farrside.com/events.
