Duany Plater-Zyberk book published

Suburban Nation: The Rise of Sprawl and the Decline of the American Dream was published by North Point Press on March 1. This new urbanist manifesto by Andres Duany, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, and Jeff Speck assesses sprawl’s economic, ecological, aesthetic, and social costs to society and offers solutions for how to make America build neighborhoods again. The book comes with glowing advance endorsements. Robert Stern, dean of the Yale School of Architecture, calls it “an essential text for our time, as compelling and important as Jane Jacob’s The Death and Life of Great American Cities.” Author Kurt Andersen says Suburban Nation “may be the best guide to reforming the free market ever published.
