At the Fall task force meeting, CNU decided to reorganize the task forces. We have grown in membership and initiatives, and are adapting to these changes. A new format for task forces will make getting involved easier and more rewarding. We will keep members informed as the new system evolves. E-mail ideas and suggestions to task force manager, Sarah Pulleyblank (sarah@cnu.org). To participate in a task force, you must attend at least one Congress. The National Building Museum in Washington, DC includes CNU in its current exhibit, "Reimagining the Suburbs: Smart Growth and Choices for Change." CNU’s new book, Charter of the New Urbanism, is in stores now. Join us at the Tattered Cover bookstore at 16th and Wynkoop in Denver on February 12 for the book’s grand presentation party. Entry will be free, the Colorado AIA and ASLA will provide refreshments, and authors will be signing books. Executive Director Shelley Poticha has accepted an invitation to join the select US-China Residential Building Council. The council improves trade opportunities for American companies while helping China develop more and better housing. Poticha is the council’s one voice calling for careful planning in the country’s development, in the face of considerable pressure for sprawl.
