ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    JUL. 1, 2004
The first issue of New Urban Living, a full-color bimonthly magazine aimed at showing how new urban communities deliver a better quality of life, has been published by New Urban Living LLC of Ormond Beach, Florida. The 72-page premier issue, dated Sept.-Oct. 2004, includes features on urban lofts, Segway personal transportation devices, gardening on small lots, a Florida “conch” house, and Florida recipes, along with brief news items and a review of Eleanor Lynn Nesmith’s book Seaside Style. Most of the articles appear aimed at prospective residents of new urban developments, but the “Technically Speaking” column by Jackie Benson offers advice to developers on how to create “the image of a special place.” Stephen G. Mann is editor. The web site is www.newurbanliving.com.
