Green Street Properties of Atlanta, an infill development company started by former internet entrepreneur Charles Brewer, has filed plans for Glenwood Park, a 28-acre, mixed-use neighborhood on an abandoned industrial site two miles east of downtown Atlanta. A design team led by Dover Kohl & Partners and Tunnell-Spangler & Associates has produced a plan for a compact neighborhood framed by multifamily, retail, and office buildings on the western and southern edges and an elementary school in the northeast corner (see plan below). The development program includes up to 50 detached homes, up to 75 attached townhomes and condominiums, 300 apartments, and up to 155,000 square feet of retail and office space. Most homes will be served by alleys, and many will front an oval park at the center of the neighborhood.
