Harvard forecast: More sprawl

Harvard's annual The State of the Nation's Housing says more sprawl is inevitable, but it doesn't say when. Since most undeveloped land is outside of cities, it says “there is every reason to believe that the exurbs will once again capture a disproportionate share of growth once residential construction activity resumes.” The report is conventional wisdom and has been predicting a recovery in single family housing for four years. The millennial generation will have the strongest impact on new housing, the report says, but the preferences of this generation toward cities are not examined. It also doesn't define "sprawl." Still, an interesting read.
