Lakewood, a 200-acre new urban, mixed-use community

Lakewood, a 200-acre new urban, mixed-use community in Athens, Georgia, was scheduled to break ground in June (see images below). The project, under development by Shane and Mike Dekle, includes 334 single-family detached houses, 88 townhouses, 94 condominium units, 162 town center apartments, and 198 apartments in stand-alone buildings. The commercial component will be 173,000 square feet. Lakewood was planned by Medick Architects; Williams & Associates provided landscape architecture and engineering services.
