The Louisiana state housing board cleared the way
ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    DEC. 1, 2007
The Louisiana state housing board cleared the way in late October for construction of 75 “Louisiana Cottages” at Jackson Barracks, the National Guard’s headquarters in New Orleans. The modular units, designed by new urbanists for hurricane-damaged sections of the state, will house civilian and uniformed employees of the state military department, helping the barracks to begin regaining the employment level it had prior to Katrina. The houses will be erected by the Cypress Group, probably starting late this year or early in 2008.
