A mixed-use, infill development is now under construction in the historic Viewmont neighborhood in Hickory, North Carolina. Viewmont Square will feature 36 Charleston-style townhouses and a retail building topped by two floors of condominiums. Other multistory buildings on the nine-acre site will include live/work units and office space. Hickory-based Prism Development expects to build a total of 100 housing units and 100,000 square feet of commercial space. The land plan is by Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company, and FMK Architects of Charlotte, and Carlsten, Pucciano & English of Atlanta are responsible for the architecture.
