The new Center for Transit Oriented Development will

The new Center for Transit Oriented Development will perform a similar function as the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU), but focused solely on TOD, according to Shelley Poticha, the director. “The center was set up to increase the number of TODs from the current handful to hundreds,” says Poticha, who stepped down as CNU director in July. “We’ll provide technical information and other assistance to planners, developers, and transit agencies.” Poticha is working on fundraising for the new organization, which she says will come from the federal government, foundation grants, and other sources. The center will be based in Oakland.
