New presentation tool available

One of the greatest challenges for a developer or public official who wants to promote New Urbanism is finding the best way to concisely explain the basic principles. New presentations from the CNU help get across the big picture. CNU’s “Tour of the New Urbanism” has been available in Flash format at CNU.org since last spring. It has been very well received, prompting CNU staff to create a Powerpoint show with the same general format. The presentation can be edited and adapted for local needs, and provides a wealth of slides for the very low price of $50. The Powerpoint show was produced by Steve Price of Urban Advantage, the movement’s master of computer visualization. He included several of his trademark transformations in the show, showing what happens when New Urbanism rescues a street, and what happens when a street falls into disrepair. The show includes almost the same images and text as the on-line tour, but adds speaker notes describing what the pictures show.
