The New York State Department of Transportation

The New York State Department of Transportation is warming up to modern roundabouts. This summer DOT completed installation of the first roundabout in Washington County, northeast of Albany. It’s at the intersection of Routes 29 and 40 in Greenwich. The City of Glens Falls, north of Albany, has been studying whether to install a roundabout in a five-point downtown intersection where a traffic signal now causes tie-ups at busy times. Glens Falls Mayor Robert Regan said in May that engineers and state officials have made a compelling case for a roundabout.
