The owner of Legacy Business Park, one of the Dallas area’s largest employers, is building the first new urbanist town center within an existing office park. Legacy Town Center, under construction in Plano, Texas, will have primary roads and utilities completed by August, 1999. Several buildings are scheduled to break ground this summer. Designed by Duany Plater-Zyberk and owned by Electronic Data Systems Corporation, the 150-acre project integrates a mixed-use downtown of 2,700 luxury apartments, shops, hotels, an entertainment district, and parks, into an existing base of corporate offices. The first 300 to 400 apartment units will be developed by Post Properties.
