In Paris, a motorist with a cellphone or a GPS navigation device will soon be able to find out whether there’s a parking garage nearby that has space available. An organization of French parking garages announced in November that approximately 120 parking garages in Paris will be linked by the Internet, helping motorists find parking spots and perhaps helping the traffic flow. One of the companies involved, Navx, hopes to introduce an Internet-based system in Germany in February, according to a Nov. 23 New York Times report.
