Paul Ostergaard, a principal in Urban Design Associates, will produce a pattern book containing controls and standards for Storrs Center, a mixed-use development to be built by Leyland Alliance adjacent to the University of Connecticut’s main campus in the Town of Mansfield. The pattern book will establish the basic three-dimensional building forms and types for the development, along with key architectural elements and details. The first building associated with the project — a three-story, 15,000 sq. ft. structure intended to house businesses relocated from existing buildings on the site — has been designed by Patrick Pinnell in cooperation with BL Companies, engineers. Construction of that building will start in the spring.
