Proposed Montecito Town Center in Las Vegas

The proposed Montecito Town Center in Las Vegas, billed as the “largest town center in the United States,” is designed with substantial new urbanist elements. The project is on a 254-acre site that the city had planned for a new urbanist type town center. A six-block core at the center of the project will consist of four- to five-story mixed-use retail, office, and residential buildings. The project, designed by RTKL, will have 10 million square feet of development. The site is generally laid out on a modified grid, with most of the parking on the interior of blocks. There will be some more conventional suburban elements, as well, including a commercial center anchored by a supermarket with much of the parking in front. The project probably is a year and a half away from construction.
