Realen Properties has proposed a redevelopment of the Garden State Park racetrack in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with a design by the Princeton office of Looney Ricks Kiss (LRK). The $500-million project would include 1,100 housing units, over 1 million square feet of employment, and over a half million square feet of retail and civic space. The plan for the 230 acres fits two 100,000 sq. ft. big boxes into a pedestrian- oriented town center. The township previously rejected a more conventional Realen proposal which included four big box stores and 30 percent more housing and retail.
