Scott Polikov of Gateway Planning Group in Austin, Texas, is joining the board of directors of the National Civic League. He was involved in producing a master plan and form-based code for transit-oriented development in the core of a 2,000-acre section of Leander, Texas, which won the inaugural Envision Central Texas Community Stewardship Award for Public Policy and Planning. Polikov reports that “in Leander several of the large tracts are under contract or being considered by serious vertical mixed-use developers; we are assisting the city with creation of the tax-increment financing (TIF) district.”
