The University of Miami’s Knight Fellows in Community
ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    JUL. 1, 2006
The University of Miami’s Knight Fellows in Community Building will conduct a charrette in Memphis July 17-22 aimed at helping revitalize a section of the Tennessee city that historically was known as Winchester Park and currently is called Intown. The UrbanArt Commission will be local host for the charrette, which will focus on a series of projects and urban design guidelines that can be implemented incrementally. The mile-square area is seen as a critical link between St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Le Bonheur Medical Center, and is situated where it can serve the residential and commercial needs of the growing Memphis Medical Center. Memphis-based Knight Fellow Rusty Bloodworth of Boyle Investment Company will serve as community liaison for the event.
