Urban design strategies for a neighborhood in San
ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    DEC. 1, 2002
Urban design strategies for a neighborhood in San Jose, California, soon to be served by light-rail transit were the focus of a charrette conducted Nov. 13-18 by the University of Miami’s Knight Program in Community Building. Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, dean of the school, and Chuck Bohl, director of the program, led the 12 mid-career Knight Fellows plus students and faculty. The goal was to develop urban design strategies for transit station areas, housing, streets, commercial areas, parks, and plazas in the Evergreen-Eastridge neighborhood.
