The Urban Land Institute published Great Planned
ROBERT STEUTEVILLE    OCT. 1, 2002
The Urban Land Institute published Great Planned Communities, a look at 26 large-scale master planned developments around the world. Although a few of the communities began construction in the 1960s and 1970s, most were designed in the last 10 years. As such, this lavishly illustrated book could be considered a summary of state-of-the-art mainstream techniques in this field. Interestingly, nearly two-thirds of the projects featured can be classified as new urban. Many of the others are partly influenced by New Urbanism. Contact: www.uli.org.
